Between the Lost Coast and Redwood Forest, California, United States
I used to be a corporate drone, and more recently I was a law student. Right now I'm a Korean film buff (my DVD collection) and a small college sports aficianado (see here). I'm still trying to figure out what I'll be next. The words and photos on this blog, unless otherwise noted, are my own and may not be reproduced without my permission. I look forward to your comments on any of my entries--just click on the "comments" tag after any post.
Why is it that you can go to concerts of the Berlin Philharmonic or Philadelphia Orchestra for 100 years and never encounter a guitar concerto, but you can't go 100 minutes on a classical radio station without one?
Well...you may be right. I guess I should just be thankful that none of the other members of the jug band have had their Severance Hall debuts yet. (If there's such a thing as a Double Concerto for Banjo and Washtub Bass, I don't want to know about it!)

What about the Rodrigo Concierto de Aranjuez, or the Granados Goyescos?
I can't speak for Sir Simon Rattle, but I'd bet dollars to doughnuts that Philadelphia has programmed both within the last five years.
Humbug, I say. Humbug!
