The Eel Sea

After two days of steady, hard rain, the usually insignificant Eel River looks like an inland sea. Note the standing water even in the pasture on this side of the river's edge. And we have rain forecast every day for the rest of the week, courtesy of El NiƱo. Time to start building that ark!

Ok. I've spent way too much time reading your blog, which I believe should grant me one free comment. However, I'm not sure what that should be. Evidently Horace Greely's advice finally seeped down into the wilderness that is Millersburg and touched your soul. Problem is, I don't recollect Greely going into much detail: he left out the part wherein such travellers would be left dealing with earth tremors and wayward bats, while being forced to saturate themselves with DIII basketball only via the internet. Korean movies? Cricket? I figured, after seeing you sit fifty rows up in the Wooster gym, that you were mildly eccentric, but you've pushed the bar even beyond my reach.

At any rate, I hope things are going better. You could be me: my house up for sale and my company about to fold. I may shortly need a cottage or teepee in the Pacific Northwest myself.
